You are very lucky I've mounted a mcru on a soma, movements are "limited", most of the time you go forward or backward, so the problem must be that people spawn in front of you or on your back, also with a LAV you are fast enough to be somewhere else when people spawn.
Hello and Happy Holidays: Your information has me interested, because I have an mCRU fitted on a LAV I haven't used in the field yet. According to the description, PROVIDED YOU HAVE A FREE SEAT in your vehicle, the mCRU will allow players to regenerate IN one of the seats of the vehicle.... if there are no available seats left, the mCRU is supposed to be inaccessible for clones to utilize.
In the past, the mCRU could NOT be used in some vehicles (I think players reported that it would be FITTED in the vehicle, but then simply couldn't be accessed to regenerate). It's not supposed to plant you OUTSIDE the host vehicle, is it?
(If this is what's happening, then you ought to report this in the TECHNICAL BUG section, and have it seen to.) |

Good question, Shayz. For some of us it's an attempt to be "coop". A DANGEROUS, risky attempt, because we can't control the type of person who's going to spawn in our vehicle, but... the chosen style or way we use our vehicle sort of requires a back-up gunner in the vehicle with us. (At least it DID before patch 1.7, unfortunately).
Some HAV operators don't shoot, gimp and flee from a fight---they like to flank or plow in direct support of their infantry--they know this risks the enemy sneaking in behind them, and so they would give real money to find a GOOD turret gunner who can commit to keeping the red fleas away from the HAV's rear end.
...Doesn't always mean you'll invite a useful gunner, but for that style of HAV driver, the mCRU at least gives them a CHANCE to have SOME sort of gunner. |
